Types Of Tetanus Vaccination We Treat
- Tetanus booster (Td)
Standard booster recommended every 10 years or following high-risk wounds.
- Tdap booster
Combined tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis.
- Post-injury tetanus prophylaxis
Administered following high-risk wounds regardless of last booster date.
When to Go to the Emergency Room Instead
Go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 if you or someone with you has:
- Signs of active tetanus infection: muscle spasms, jaw stiffness, difficulty swallowing (go to ER immediately)
- Wound with severe contamination requiring surgical care
If you are unsure, go to the ER. It is always better to be safe.
