Types Of Headaches & Migraines We Treat

Most common type. Dull aching pressure around the head. Often stress or posture related.

  • Migraine

Severe throbbing usually one-sided pain with nausea and light sensitivity.

Visual or sensory disturbances before the migraine begins.

  • Sinus headache

Pressure and pain in the forehead or cheeks with congestion.

When to Go to the Emergency Room Instead

Go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 if you or someone with you has:

  • Sudden ‘worst headache of your life’ (possible subarachnoid haemorrhage)
  • Headache with stiff neck and fever (possible meningitis)
  • Headache with confusion, weakness, or vision changes
  • Facial drooping or arm weakness (possible stroke — call 911)

If you are unsure, go to the ER. It is always better to be safe.
