Overview

Sprains (ligament injuries) and strains (muscle or tendon injuries) are among the most common urgent care presentations. At Reddy Urgent Care, we assess the injury, take an on-site X-ray to rule out fracture, and provide splinting and support equipment the same day.

Symptoms We Treat

  • Pain at the injury site
  • Swelling and bruising
  • Limited range of motion
  • Tenderness when touched
  • Muscle spasm (strain)
  • Joint instability (sprain)
  • Difficulty bearing weight

Most Insurance Accepted

We accept most major insurance plans, Medi-Cal, and Medicare. We verify your benefits before treatment and inform you of any costs upfront.

Types Of Sprains & Strains We Treat

  • Ankle sprain

Most common type. Often from rolling the ankle inward.

  • Wrist sprain

Common from falls on an outstretched hand.

  • Knee sprain

Ligament injury from twisting or impact.

  • Muscle strain (back, hamstring, calf)

Overuse or sudden force causing muscle or tendon tear.

When to Go to the Emergency Room Instead

Go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 if you or someone with you has:

  • Visible bone deformity or bone through skin
  • Complete inability to bear weight
  • Numbness or loss of sensation
  • Suspected dislocation

If you are unsure, go to the ER. It is always better to be safe.
