When to Go to the Emergency Room Instead

Go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 if you or someone with you has:

  • Severe dehydration with confusion or loss of consciousness
  • No urination in 8+ hours with inability to keep fluids down
  • Dehydration in infants with sunken fontanelle

If you are unsure, go to the ER. It is always better to be safe.
