Types Of Sore Throat We Treat

  • Viral sore throat

    Most common cause. Clears with rest and symptom care.

  • Strep throat (bacterial)

  • Tonsillitis

    Inflamed tonsils from bacterial or viral infection.

  • Mono (mononucleosis)

    Viral infection causing severe sore throat and fatigue. Rapid test available.

When to Go to the Emergency Room Instead

Go to the nearest emergency room or call 911 if you or someone with you has:

  • Severe difficulty swallowing or breathing
  • Throat swelling closing the airway
  • Drooling because swallowing is impossible
  • High fever with stiff neck

If you are unsure, go to the ER. It is always better to be safe.
