How is COVID-19 spread?
The coronaviruse (COVID-19) is usually spread from an infected person to other people through the air by coughing, sneezing and through close personal contact, such as touching or shaking hands and then transmitting the virus from surfaces and hands into the mouth, nose and eyes.
How can I prevent contracting COVID-19?
Hand washing continues to be the best way to protect yourself from contracting the illness. It is important to remember to stay home from work or school if you are not feeling well, so that you don’t limit the spread to others. Remember to keep your distance from people who are showing signs of illness – 6 feet is the general rule. It has been recommended to wear a mask when out in public places.
What are the symptoms of COVID-19?
Currently COVID-19 symptoms include fever, cough and shortness of breath. COVID-19 can range from very mild to quite severe symptoms.
What should I do if I have symptoms?
If you have a fever, shortness of breath or a cough, and have been in close contact with a person identified to have COVID-19 or if you have recently returned from an area with widespread or ongoing community spread of COVID-19, or have been in direct contact with someone who has traveled to these areas, and think you should be tested for the virus, please call us to book a Telehealth visit.
Do I qualify for testing?
Everybody is qualified.
What type of test is performed?
It is up to the patient.
Type 1 – Nasal Swab ( This tells you if you currently have Covid-19)
Type -2 Blood draw for Anti-Body test (This tells you if you had Covid-19 already and developed anti-bodies)
How is my sample for testing collected?
1) Nasal Swab- For Covid -19
2) Blood draw for Anti-Body test
How will I get results?
Our office will call you after the results are received. If positive test, instructions will be given. ( 24 to 36 hours)
Is there an out-of-pocket cost?
Blue Cross, Blue Shield, Medicare are covering 100%. No cost to patient. In some cases your co-pays may apply.
Do you take insurance?
All insurances and Medicare are acceptable.
How much is your self-pay cost?
Do I need an appointment or can I walk in?
We are walk-in only.
How do I prepare for the visit? What do I need to bring with me?
If you do not any symptoms, we will check your insurance and give you paper work to finish in your car. Once the paper work is finished we come to your car to take the sample for the test. If you have symptoms, we ask that you call us from the car and instructions will be given.
What if I need to bring my kids or other family members?
Yes you can bring children and other family members. Same procedures apply.
How do I get free COVID-19 testing?
If you do not insurance and can’t afford to pay, we have a program to do the test for free.
